Artifact #3 - Kamikaze Zeke Fuel Gauges 

 

Description: Control gauge faces attributed to the Kamikaze Zeke that hit the USS Missouri 11 April 1945. 2.5" diameter with black front and silver back, the first is marked for 0, 10, 20, and 30 with writing in katakana above and below the central attachment hole. Additional writing between 0 and 30 leading with number 5, roughly translates to "5th Fuel Tank." The second gauge is marked in increments for 0, 5, 10, and 138.6. Donated by the family of S1c Richard Gordan Young, who served onboard the USS Missouri from 1944 to 1946 in the Gunnery Department.
