Community Events

Community Events are open to the general public and offer residents and visitors the opportunity to celebrate USS Missouri milestones, our military, and local community.

Please click on the below list for event details:

  • Living History Day: On the last Saturday in January, history comes alive when the USS Missouri Memorial Association celebrates the launching of the USS Missouri on January 29, 1944. This day is celebrated with special ship tours, military and community partner exhibits, and entertainment throughout the day.
  • Picnic on the Pier: A summer series of evening family events with food and beverage, family activities, entertainment, and tours of the Battleship Missouri.
  • End of WWII Commemoration: On September 2nd, the USS Missouri Memorial Association commemorates in ceremony the formal conclusion of WWII which took place on USS Missouri when Japan signed the Instrument of Surrender in Tokyo Bay on September 2, 1945.
  • Veterans Day: On November 11th, Veterans Day observances across our nation end with a sunset ceremony onboard the Battleship Missouri. All veterans are honored, both past and present, who have served our country with valor and heroism, and with many making the ultimate sacrifice.
  • Photos with Santa: In December, Battleship Missouri’s Santa sails in for photos with keiki! Come aboard and visit with Santa and enjoy activities for the entire family.
