Aloha Fridays

Aloha Fridays

This summer, the Battleship Missouri Memorial invites families to join them for "Aloha Fridays," a special event series designed to celebrate their newest exhibit, "Life After Infamy, The Resilience of the Aloha Spirit in Wartime Hawai‘i,” highlighting Dorinda Nicholson's first-hand experience of witnessing the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II.

Participate in engaging, make-and-take activities inspired by Aunty Dorinda's life and mo'olelo (stories), as featured in the exhibit, the American Girl® doll Nanea™ book series, and the Pearl Harbor Child book. Developed by Battleship Missouri Memorial’s Education Department, these captivating activities will feature a Mighty Mo Educator who will engage with families and guide young visitors in understanding the exhibit's key values of kōkua (helpfulness) and aloha (goodwill). This enriching experience is perfect for K-5 students and families exploring the Second Deck tour route aboard the USS Missouri.
