Tour Stops

The guided tour stops include:

To ensure a proper and respectful display, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • The Bow, where you get a sweeping view of the Mighty Mo and learn about the ship’s history, impressive size, and powerful guns.
  • Surrender Deck: The official site of the end of WWII. You will learn about the very place on the Battleship Missouri where Japan surrendered on September 2, 1945. This moment in the ship’s history is the reason why it was brought to Pearl Harbor as a memorial. Here in these waters, the Arizona Memorial marks the beginning of WWII for the U.S. and the Battleship Missouri Memorial represents the end of WWII for all nations.
  • Kamikaze Attack Site: During the Battle of Okinawa in 1945, the Battleship Missouri was hit by a kamikaze plane. This stop discusses the origin of kamikaze and how it was implemented in WWII before recounting the attack off Okinawa and its aftermath.
  • (PLUS Exhibit) Temporary Exhibit on Second Deck: An exhibit for further interpretation of a topic related to the Battleship Missouri and its history.

Contact us at education@ussmissouri.org to learn about our current exhibit.
