Your support helps us to preserve the Battleship Missouri and share her story and place in history.

Support Our Mission

The USS Missouri Memorial Association (UMMA) is a federally registered Hawaii-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization designated by the U.S. Navy as caretaker of the Battleship Missouri. In this privileged role as caretaker of the Battleship Missouri, UMMA is not supported with government funding.

Our mission is to preserve the Battleship Missouri and share her story and place in history. Donations of any size to support this mission are gratefully accepted. To give a secure online donation click here. (Gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.)

Q: How will my donation be used?

A: Donations are utilized to support the following key initiatives:

Preservation: Painting the ship’s exterior and interior spaces; improving the ship’s energy efficiency; collecting and recording historical artifacts related to the USS Missouri and her crew. To learn more about our preservation of historical artifacts and records click here.

Restoration: Working to mitigate rust and corrosion; replacing and refurbishing the classic teak wood deck.

Education: Sponsoring experiential learning programs focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); leading local students in overnight, aboard ship, encampments; arranging performing arts presentations for Battleship Missouri guests by local, national, and international groups. Special Events : Hosting the following annual commemorative events: Living History Day; September 2- Commemorating the End of WWII; November 11- Honoring Veteran’s Day. To learn more about these special events click here .

Additional Support Opportunities

VOLUNTEER

When the Battleship Missouri was in commission, there were 2,500 Sailors maintaining the ship. Today, the Battleship Missouri Memorial has less than 25 ship maintenance staff working on the ship. Volunteers are needed to restore and preserve teak decks, metal decks, bulkheads, displays and equipment. For more information on volunteer opportunities, please click here.

CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS

Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double your donation to the USS Missouri Memorial Association. If your company has a matching gift program, please consider submitting your donation for matching funds. Please check with your employer regarding the process for matching gifts, as each company has its own guidelines.

Due to construction of the Honolulu Rail Transit Project, shuttle times from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center to the Battleship Missouri Memorial may be delayed. Please allow yourself extra time for this activity as tour buses will need to take a different route to accommodate construction in the area.
