Tomahawk Deck
During USS Missouri’s 1980s modernization, platforms were constructed on the superstructure amidships and aft to accommodate eight 4-missile Armored Box Launchers (ABLs) for a total of 32 missiles.
Tomahawk Missiles
Tomahawks are long range, subsonic cruise missiles, used for land attack warfare with a range of approximately 675 nautical miles and capable of carrying a 1,000 lb. explosive warhead.
Tomahawks use an inertial and terrain contour-matching (TERCOM) guidance system to find their target.

Harpoon Missiles
Four 4-missile Harpoon launchers were also installed aboard during modernization. The AGM-84D Harpoon missile is an all-weather, over-the-horizon, anti-ship missile system with a range of more than 60 nautical miles and capable of carrying a 488 lb. explosive warhead.

DID YOU MO?: Twenty-eight Tomahawk missiles were fired from the ship during the Persian Gulf War in 1991. No Harpoon missiles were ever fired in combat, just one during a training exercise.

The 03 level also includes the Signal Bridge, providing necessary visual communication to other ships at sea using signal lights, signal flags, and semaphore.
