USS Missouri Memorial Association Announces the Addition of New Members to its 2023-2024 Board of Directors

Pearl Harbor, HI – (June 13, 2023) The USS Missouri Memorial Association is pleased to announce the appointment of three distinguished individuals to its board of directors. The addition of John McKenna to the Human Resources (HR) Committee, Keno Knieriem to the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Committee, and Ed Sultan to the Strategic Initiatives (SI) Committee will further enhance the association's ability to drive and propel the organization forward.

The USS Missouri Memorial Association Board of Directors looks to its newly appointed board members for guidance into the next year and is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the historic battleship USS Missouri.

John McKenna, Board Member, Human Resources Committee

McKenna is a Senior Vice President and Client Development Manager for Bank of Hawaii’s Corporate Banking Division. With over two decades of experience in the field, McKenna brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in employee development and organizational culture. McKenna has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Franklin University and has been a Certified Treasury Professional since 2001. McKenna will join the HR Committee in his new board member role.

Keno Knieriem, Board Member, Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Committee

Knieriem assumes the role of a board member and will serve on the Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Committee. After graduating from Punahou High School and the US Naval Academy, Knieriem served as a naval officer specializing in ship and submarine lifecycle maintenance, as well as salvage engineering. Knieriem went on to successfully develop multiple Hawaii-based businesses, including the Treehouse Co-Working Spaces, which supports over 500 small businesses, The Boardroom, a locally focused craft bar and restaurant, and Solar Shack, a coffee shop and beer garden. He is also co-founder of Honokea and was named Pacific Business News' Entrepreneur of the Year for small business in Hawaii in 2022.

Ed Sultan, Board Member, Strategic Initiatives (SI) Committee

As CEO of Na Hoku, Inc., Sultan has helped grow his local, family business to become North America’s 18th largest fine jewelry retailer, as well as the 82nd largest business in Hawaii. Sultan's experience in developing and executing growth strategies across diverse industries will bolster the association's efforts to expand its reach, strengthen partnerships, and enhance visitor experiences. His expertise in strategic planning and implementation will play a vital role in advancing the association's mission and securing its future.
