Flag raising

Flag raising onboard the Battleship Missouri can be done by local request, out state request, or in person. You must provide your own flag; flag sizes 3’x 5’ or 4’x 6’ are preferred and must have 2 grommet holes to be flown.

Local Request

Complete the Military Request Form and drop it off along with the flag at the security shack located at the entrance of the USS Missouri. On the form please provide the following as you would like it to appear on the certificate:

• Rank/name of the retiree/member, including warfare designations (if any)
• Years of service

Once the flag is flown and the certificate is ready, you will be notified to pick it up from the security shack at the entrance of the USS Missouri.

Out of state Request

On the military request form, please provide the following as you would like it to appear on the certificate:

• Rank/name of the retiree/member, including warfare designations (if any)
• Years of service

Mail the flag, the request form, and a prepaid selfaddressed return postage (Label…no stamps) for a Medium Flat Rate Box via USPS or FEDEX or UPS to:

We will return your flag and flag certificate in a Medium Flat Rate Box via USPS or FEDEX or UPS using the return postage provided.

In Person Request

Fill out the Military Request Form and email it to military@ussmissouri.org to schedule a time to come to the ship to raise the flag. The process takes approximately 15 minutes, reservations are required.

We process requests for ceremonies by the order in which the  Military Request Form is received.

Back in Business

We feel extremely fortunate to be able to welcome our guests back aboard America's last battleship. The Battleship Missouri Memorial will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
