The USS Missouri Memorial Association is dedicated to preserving the Battleship Missouri Memorial and sharing her story and place in history.
The Battleship Missouri Memorial is a Pearl Harbor museum and historic attraction located on Ford Island in Honolulu, Hawaii. The memorial preserves USS Missouri (BB-63), an Iowa-class battleship affectionately known as the “Mighty Mo” and the last battleship commissioned into the United States Navy. On September 2, 1945, Japan’s Instrument of Surrender was signed aboard USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, formally ending World War II.
Today, visitors can explore the historic battleship and learn about her service and role in the surrender ceremony. The Battleship Missouri Memorial and nearby USS Arizona Memorial are known as the “bookends of World War II,” connecting the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, with the war’s formal conclusion on September 2, 1945.
